Pity the Fools: Slingshot Madness

Things got a little rowdy on April 1, which is incidentally the birthday of JDH3rd. Shots were being slung, and the "Stop Drop Roll and Slingshot" technique was being displayed. JDH3rd and I talked about starting a little slingshot practice group on Sunday afternoons. He had the idea of buying some, say, ground buffalo meat, forming it into little mini buffalo shapes, setting them up as targets, shooting them, and then grilling the meat. Brilliant. Enjoy the photos.

The "Stop, Drop and Slingshot" technique is an excellent choice in most any birthday situation. While exercising this technique, the experienced slingshotter understands that focus and concentration are the means to success in birthday competitions. How do we keep our concentration and focus? Many veteran slingshotters would tell you that, "Well crap on a biscuit, it's really pretty easy, but you best ought to develop your own 'Slingshot Zen'." Slingshot Zen is a set of ancient yet unstoppable procedures that the good slingshotter follows during his/her birthday competition. Slingshot Zen should be practiced regularly so that it may "flow" without "question" during the birthday competition. This will help the slinghotter to stay focused, concentrated and sometimes it helps to relax the mental "tension". You should make a Zen Slinghsot checklist and always go over the list that best suits you. Here is an example of a Zen Slingshot Checklist:
I. Stance
A. Assume Stance
B. Respect Karma
B. Nock ammo
C. I'm tired and must go to bed. A good slingshotter will learn the rest of the points to this checklist on his/her own. (In light of the Easter holiday, please click on my name associated with my comment to go to a special picture... but instead of the musician and a French horn imagine that it is you using your Slingshot Zen to focus with a slingshot instead of a French horn.)
